Build a working differential


Competition - build a working differential, and car to test that it is working.

For example one wheel smaller one bigger, or one wheel is little friction, second is good friction, or car is turning, and one wheel rotate faster, second slower.

not standart differential mechanisms are welcome))

Why is that, seeing your nickname, I just assumed that you're Russian. As you brought here? Long in Golems?

By the way, I saw that you assign different parts of different density. What does this affect? Such as the engine out of your iron.
Tip: in the properties of the motor input is necessary to put "Velocity". Increased power and smoothness.
Power "100" mode "Velocity", equal to the power of "5000" in the mode "Force" (approximately).

No im not long here)

Iron have more destiny, but sometimes need to small friction so you can select ICE and set high destiny.

Destiny is stability of structure. In high loaded parts (gears, motors) its better to set parts from IRON. I solved problem with stucks in my differential mechanism by setting destiny to very hight values. When destiny is default or small, motors or other objects in high loads can change a little their positions, so all mechanism will stuck and be bugged. With hitg destiny my differential work stable.

About motors, okay i will try it. As I understand - velocity - is the maximum speed. Force - is the maximum force (hoursepower)

Density is the mass of the object divided by it's volume. Higher mass means low forces will have negligable effects on the parts.

As for the motors:
The "Force input" setting means that the force the motor applies is the input multiplied by the maximum force setting.
The "Velocity input" setting means that the motor will apply as much force as necessary(within it's maximum force limit) to reach a velocity of the input multiplied by the maximum velocity setting.

When you want to control a motor's velocity, use the velocity input setting, when you want to control the force it applies, use the force setting. If you just want it to run at full throttle, use the force setting and give it a constant input of 1.

As for the material, each material has a different coefficients of restitution(bouncyness) and friction. For example, rubber has high restitution and high friction, while ice has low friction and medium-low restitution(from what I've seen).
Each material also has a default density setting, but you can change it's density without changing it's other properties.

Thanks for the reply. Of ice, rubber, and their properties, I know. But they are only relevant in friction or collision. And the engine of iron just hangs. Does it make sense to do it out of iron?
