Hello! Glad to see someone on the forum. Be sure to go introduce yourself.
Hopefully this helps.
1) Click on the item you want to change the color or appearance of, then hit enter to edit it.*
2) Click the Appearance tab.
3) Click the Primary Color box.
4) Use the slider on the far right to edit the transparency.
*This will let you edit a lot about the object if you haven't seen these menus before.

Hi,
I am very happy I found this thread: I was also not able to change object properties. I think it would be useful to add this information to the manual.
Beside that, I would like to know if there is a way to create and add my own personal background.
